Every agency needs a site that proves the point. Cosmic Websites is the studio’s own platform — designed, built, and launched by Maddy to the same standard applied to every client project. No shortcuts, no templates, no page builders.
The brief
Build a marketing and sales platform for a boutique web design studio that communicates quality without overcomplicating the message. The site needed to sell packaged services, showcase client work, host a journal, and handle enquiries — all while looking the part in a crowded market.
What we built
A fully custom WordPress FSE child theme with zero page-builder dependency. Every section, component, and interaction is hand-built with performance and longevity in mind.
- Service store — WooCommerce with four virtual service products (Atmosphere, Orbital, Lunar, Deep Space), custom product pages, and a post-purchase brief form wired to the order confirmation page.
- Portfolio system — a custom post type with filterable work archive, per-mission meta fields (tier, location, KPI, live URL), and full case study pages with cinematic heroes.
- Journal — a styled blog with featured post card, post grid, category filtering, and individual post templates with reading time and gradient headlines.
- Contact flow — AJAX-powered contact form with budget selector, tier picker, nonce security, and email notification.
- Cookie consent — custom glassmorphism banner with localStorage persistence and GDPR/PECR compliance.
Design approach
An intergalactic space aesthetic — deep void backgrounds, electric cyan and violet accents, procedurally generated starfields, and animated planet SVGs. The design language reinforces the studio’s personality without distracting from the commercial goal: converting visitors into enquiries.
Typography uses Onest for body and display, JetBrains Mono for labels and eyebrows. Every hero headline gradients the final word using a custom PHP helper that works automatically across all dynamic post types.
