AUREN is a concept wearable device designed to help neurodiverse individuals manage auditory sensitivity in everyday environments. The brief was simple but significant: build an investor-facing website that could open doors.

The Brief

The founder came to us with a prototype concept and a pitch deck — but no digital presence. They needed a website that could sit alongside that deck: something credible, polished, and human enough to make investors feel the why behind the product, not just the what.

The target audience is early-stage angel investors and grant committees — people who have seen thousands of decks and can immediately smell something that was thrown together. The bar was high.

The Challenge

Neurodiverse products carry a specific design tension. On one hand, the site needs to feel premium and authoritative — this is an investment pitch, not a charity campaign. On the other hand, it needs to feel genuinely human and empathetic, or it risks looking like cold medtech. Get either side wrong and you lose the room.

We also had to build something that could be handed over to a non-technical founder to maintain — which ruled out page builders and plugin stacks that create long-term dependency.

The Approach

We chose a restrained, clinical-meets-warm aesthetic: deep backgrounds with generous white space, soft warm accents rather than aggressive CTAs, and typography that communicates precision without coldness. Every section was written with a single investor question in mind: “Why does this matter, and why now?”

The page structure follows a natural investor journey — problem, solution, product, team, contact — so the site works whether someone lands cold from a link or arrives already warmed up from a meeting.

The Build

  • WordPress FSE child theme built from scratch — no page builder, no recurring licence costs
  • Contact Form 7 for the investor enquiry form — lightweight, no data stored on server
  • Yoast SEO for meta, schema, and XML sitemap — ready for indexing the moment the domain goes live
  • CookieYes for GDPR-compliant cookie consent — UK and EU covered out of the box
  • Fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • Optimised for Core Web Vitals — fast load, no layout shift

The Outcome

The site is built and ready — currently awaiting domain assignment before going live. The founder has a digital presence they can share immediately via a staging link, and a codebase they own outright with no ongoing platform fees.
